Getting started
Courship helps educators build Canvas-ready courses with AI assistance. After signing up, you land on your dashboard where you can see credits, courses, and product announcements.
- Create a free account and confirm your email if prompted.
- Open Course builder to create or open a course.
- Use the AI assistant to add modules, pages, assignments, and quizzes.
- Export your course as an
.imsccfile for Canvas import.
Course builder
The course builder mirrors a Canvas-like workspace: modules, assignments, pages, discussions, and quizzes. Select an item to edit it in the main panel, or ask the assistant to create or update content for you.
- Organize content into modules and reorder items by dragging.
- Switch between Modules, Assignments, Quizzes, Discussions, and Files tabs.
- Review AI proposals before applying changes to your course.
- Export the full course package when you are ready to import into Canvas.
AI assistant
The assistant understands your course structure and can propose edits across modules and assets. Each completed response consumes AI credits based on token usage.
Credits are shown in the navigation when expanded and on your billing page. Free and Pro plans include different monthly allowances.
Doc to Quiz
Upload a Word or PDF document containing quiz questions. Courship converts them into a Classic Canvas quiz and lets you download a quiz-only export or add the quiz to an existing course.
- Open Doc to Quiz from the left navigation.
- Upload a PDF or Word file with your questions.
- Review generated questions and adjust points.
- Download a quiz ZIP or add the quiz directly to a course.
Credits for this tool are based on document size rather than chat tokens. See billing for your balance.
Billing & credits
Upgrade to Pro for higher course limits, more monthly credits, and additional export capacity. You can also purchase credit packs as needed.
Pro subscribers can manage payment methods and cancel subscriptions through the Stripe customer portal on the billing page.
Canvas export
Exports produce IMS Common Cartridge (.imscc) packages compatible with Canvas import. Quizzes use the Classic quiz format supported by standard Canvas imports.
Export a full course
- Open your course in the Course builder.
- Click Export .imscc in the toolbar.
- If the download does not start, use Download again in the popup.
- Import the file in Canvas via Settings → Import Course Content.
